No Place Like Holmes

We have all heard of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes along with his arch rival Moriarty. Holmes of course lives at 221B Baker Street.
In Jason Lethcoe's book No Place Like Holmes. Griffin Sharpe is a school boy who notices every minute detail. Perhaps it is something he has inherited from his uncle especially as he is also into detective work. But although he thinks Sherlock Holmes is his uncle he soon discovers to his disappointment he isn't.
magnifing glass Holmes lives at 221B Baker Street and Snodgrass, Griffin's extremely grumpy uncle lives at 221A. Having come all the way from America to see him for the holidays Griffin suddenly isn't looking forward to his stay. But he is determined to make the best of his visit.
Things start to look up when Sherlock Holmes is unavailable to take on a case. So it is left to Snodgrass with the help of Griffin to unravel the mystery.
It all begins with a strange creature in the River Thames. Snodgrass is desperate for the case as Holmes seems to get most of the work and Snodgrass's money is now running out. He does have one advantage over Holmes though he is a brilliant inventor. Perhaps he and Griffin can solve the crime and be one up on Sherlock Holmes.
This is a wonderful detective story and if you want to test your knowledge there are questions at the end of the book. So you can see how good your memory is by discovering if you can remember what happened. It also gives you a tip for a game you can play with family or friends. So you can play detective too.
No Place Like Holmes by Jason Lethcoe is available on Amazon.
